Almost every Saturday, at precisely 1600 hours (sometimes earlier Dec-March), a motley group of assorted runners and walkers of all ages, shapes and sizes assemble at a previously designated place, somewhere in Grenada.
This time was in the vicinity of Grenville, a 2 hour drive from Secret Harbour. We arrived, signed in and waited for the organizers instructions. We had to follow a trail of bundles of shredded paper along the fields, river beds, woods, you name it. It was challenging at times, especially having to cross the river over six times, walking up and down on slippery pathways, but we had fun! Along the way we feasted on mangos and enjoyed the views of the countryside.
We made it to the end after almost 2 hours and over 6km, what a thrill! We arrived at the start/end point and signed out (they need a count to make sure that everyone is back) to a well deserved beer, food, music and camaraderie!
It was an absolutely amazing adventure and we had a fantastic time with wonderful memories to last us a lifetime!
Cheers 🥂
