Our first sail of 2016…

DSC_0071On Saturday we sailed from Port Weller to PCYC, lending a hand aboard Tim and Fernanda’s Hunter 34 sailboat (they are still working on the name). We were very excited to be part of their maiden voyage.

This was our first time in the water this season and that goes double for Hector that took a quick dip in the PCYC harbour (no pictures though and I did ask around) but funny nonetheless. Hector was standing at the end of the pier pulling one of the stern lines when it came off the cleat causing him to lose his balance from the very narrow end. Fortunately he was able to pull himself out very fast and change into dry clothes.DSCF4097

Some of the lessons we learned from this mishap. Always make sure that the lines are properly attached, watch your steps and always, always have another set of clothes even for day trips and especially in cold days.

We ended the day with a wine tasting and a delicious dinner at PCYC. Thank you Tim and Fernanda and see you soon for more fun!
